Susan 11-07-1999, 09:10 PM It's not reading your hard drive. Type sys c: after booting to a floppy and then reboot to see if it can see it then. Pantion 11-07-1999, 10:21 PM Either your laptop is configured to start from a floppy and not to look for a HD... or your HD is missing the system files. First check your BIOS for start-up options and enable HD if it isn't. If you still have the same problem then make a boot disk and copy the sys command into it. Boot with and use "sys a: c:" to make your HD bootable again. Target 11-08-1999, 01:21 AM Here is another thing you can try. If the other posts haven't helped you out. This too of course assumes that your hard-drive has not failed and needs to be replaced. On one of my older laptops, it had this annoying deal where the hard drive would partially un-seat itself. It evidently didn't unseat itself totally because I did not get "hard disk not found" errors as you would expect. Usually this happened while traveling. Simply removing the cover, and pressing the drive firmly back into its receiver solved the problem. Again, not sure if the issue is the same, but it won't take much effort to give it a shot if the other things don't work or you cannot copy sys files to drive from the floppy. SysOpt.com
