I'll tell ya.. I just seem to have all the luck.... I got onto Steam and today they loaded the CSS updates...and when that was done I went into a couple of my usual servers I connect up to and two thirds of the way through the parsing server info...it stops ..and freezes. No mouse...no nothing... and most of the itme I cannot even get back into windoows desktop or porcesses even. I have to reboot my computer...sigh!
Nice job Steam.... Do I sare report a bug or try and get some answer from them when the last time they did not respond to my email at all???
Just possibly the servers i connectup to have not run the updates..but I find that odd as they show others playing...
What to do... I am bummed.
I am beginning to feelas though they need to use the philosophy of if its not broken ....don't fix it... I liked the older menu and the way it connected up better anyways...
Another littlebug is that I get the install menu for CSS evry time ..it loads as though its done and says play game ( the menu with the shortcut. ) I have to do this every time I play... Its no biggie but something is not quite right there either.
LOL   ;)

Its connecting now..... ( earlier ) One thing i notice about the updates is the t's are much harder to kill and it seems they move faster.
I like the models and all but just now with more people playing it fails to record my kills not as often .... you know..kill five and get one or zip. I hate that. Every once in awhile these certain guys get on my favorite server and itseemslike they get all of thier kills.. I guess i'm just ranting... usually I am the top scorer if not the top two always...
Things ar not always perfect and bug free I realizebuti kind of expected the hookups to be a bit faster maybe... They should have worked some on that end. I have afast internet and have one of the lowest pings where i play.... Somemaps alright and some it takes forever... LOL and merry frigging christmas CC... Big Jak ;)

I have been away from my main computer, so I haven't had time to test out the new update. It was a pretty big update, adding new player models for the Ts and CTs.
Keep in mind that usually when the updates are initially released, the servers get swamped and it may be difficult to connect. Once you do connect, make sure that you don't launch the game until the update is complete. You can tell it is complete when the taskbar icon changes back to "normal" from the "working" icon.

There have been a number of issues with the latest updates from Valve for Counter-Strike Source. The three most popular issues seem to be:
1. Listen-servers no longer work, ONLY dedicated servers.
2. Random lockups, hangups and crashing to the desktop.
3. FPS drops of 30-40% for some people.
Check the Valves forums at forums.steampowered.com/forums to get some more info. (edit: The forums are down for maintenance, Valve seems to have the anti-Midas touch as of late)

The models do look real good and that is one of the bigger things about the updates... Loading is always slow for these games anyways..but actually compared to alot of online games no bigger then others...
Two nights earlier... my server I play was either not on.. or they werehaving problems..as in gameconnect nobody was moving and the game was not running while evrything else checked out fine. Last night it was up again fine...
No real problems here... andfor the record i think pingsis overplayed toomuch as others where i play are from the netherlands..high pings and they play fullspeed and do fine on hookups.. I live vry close by lowest ping and it takes longerthan it should for meto connect..... As long as it connects i am happy. LOL
