i was given a chaintech 5gm2 mobo...
original problem was no video..
have 32 megs sdram ..
amd k6-3d 400 mhtz..
using diamond video on pci bus..
at first the system started and reported
16 megs on memory and 300 mhtz cup speed..
that was the last time it booted...
nothing but black screen on video...
everthing seems to power up..
connectors checked and rechecked..
jumpers checked and rechecked..
montitor good...
could i have a bad mobo???

just an insight...
ram verified ok..
cpu verified ok..
all boards making contact

Do you hear the hard drive startup? Does your machine go through the whole start up procedure? Or nothing at all.

the board sounds like it wants to post
but there is no video at all...
hard drive seems to spin up..

Try switching the video into all the slots and see if it will be usable in any slots.

If not, it doesn't look good with the board /forum/frown.gif

But...before you give up on the board, use a block of wood just long enough for the length of your video card and tap it with a hammer. It will cause an equal amount of pressure to force the card further into the slot without causing damage. (Just in case that the card is not being fully inserted)
