i'm new to video card. i've seen most video cards have 2 same type of outputs. I wonder what is it used for? does it output exactly same, or split half screen for each monitor, or one screen per monitor with Hot-key to switch from monitor to monitor?

My friend who works in AutoCAD and he said one monitor isn't enough for him, he wants to expand more space.

Taking a guess ...

I would think most such video cards are likely for 2 monitors, with a choice as to how it is configured by its user as well as the software and/or utilities which accompanied the card.

Configuration examples: 2 monitors, each running independently; or one image stretched across the 2 monitors; or the monitors acting as clones, i.e., identical image on each.

I use two Matrox (G450 & Parhelia 128) dualheal cards and one ATI card. A third connector on each card can run to a television.

Good luck.

you can use it to expand the desktop across 2 screens.
