Your board runs on AGP 4X, and AGP 8X cards can work at AGP 4X speed, so you can put in any AGP 8X card and it will work, just at AGP 4X speed.

I'm sorry but I don't know any online stores that will serve Mauritius. Try going to the local computer shop over there.

The 9250 is a very low end card. It won't be able to run very many, if any, powerful games. Based on the processor that your motherboard can handle, AMD 1.1Ghz, it looks like the bottle neck will be with your processor. A radeon 9600Pro or 9800Pro should work. They are not top of the line anymore, but they would be matched closer to your processor. The nvidia 6600GT or 6800GT would be plenty of video power, and should work, but again, your processor is going to be the slow part.

I would go as big as you can on the video card, even if your mother board and processor can't keep up. Then you can upgrade your mobo and processor later and still have a fairly good video card.

Just make sure that when you are buying a new video card, you buy an AGP card, not a PCIe card. Most of the new cards are coming out as PCIe, but they are priced lower than the AGP. Don't be fooled by the price. The older AGP technology is more expensive than the new PCIe.

there probably all about the same as far as gaming performance goes....and to be honest...niot very good at toadys games. For $150...I would try and add a bit of cash to that and start buliding a PC that might just about handle gaming. Being honest...I'd be very surprised if a duron @ 800mhz would handle any of the latest games decently. Another issue....RAM...what you got?

i have 512 sd ram .in fact i would upgrade or even buy a new pc in 2 years time but in the meantime i want to add a new graphic card and even more memory . my budget is very limited cause i am still a student so do you think it is waste of money to add a new graphic card!
i just want to be able to play a few games in my free time to rid off the stress upon me.

for that money...i would buit a cheap CPU...a cheap motherboard...512 of DDR memory and a low end graphics card. You might just make it for $200. If you spend more on the graphics card just now its a waste of time beacuse of your CPU..mobo and RAM combination.

I'd recommend you save your pennies...800 MHz and SD RAM just won't cut it with modern games.

I remember what it was like being a student. I know all you can afford is something small. so what games are you hoping to be able to play. I think if we knew that, we could figure out the most economical system that you could afford. Whether it being a new video card or a combination of ram and video or what ever. That way you'd get the best bang for your buck.

Let us know what you want to play. Keep in mind that you're not going to be able to turn the graphics all the way no matter what we recommend.

yes it will work. you have an agp4x and the 9550 is a universal agp card.

You can get a 2200+ Xp Sempron cpu for about 57.00 on www.pricegrabber.com, and a ATI based 9600xt 256mb AGP Sapphire for about 97 dollars also on pricegrabber. This will get you a decent low to mid range gaming system. This would keep you at your budget and a 9600xt is a better card then a 9550, also the Sempron should pop right into your slot. The Sempron runs at 1.5 ghz almost doubleing your performance. If you want to even upgrade a little more I believe www.newegg.com has x700 256mb for around 119.00, and a 9800 pro for 109.00. I will try to add the links to them

Also Ive played World of Warcraft , Everquest , Madden 05,06 and many games out right now with a system with a 2200+ Sempron 512 mb of ram and a 9600xt. Now remember as long as your okay with 1028X768 32 bit color your gonna be fine. The Xbox only has a 900 mhz P#3 with a Geforce3 ti500 64 MB DDR. So almost all the games from last year and early this year will play fine. If your Mother board won't take a 333MHZ chip there are plenty more 2200+ Durrons and regular Xps in the same price range on pricegrabber. Hope this helps you
