transferring diskette info. to iBook

A friend has just purchased an Apple iBook. Her last Mac was an SE!! She needs to transfer a lot of data from double density diskettes into her iBook. What would be the best approach for that endeavor? She knows she needs to buy some kind of Iomega Zip drive/Imation drive but is not sure which and what cables/connections would she need? Would these drives work on an iBook? She bought the iBook through the university and is off on her own with no technical help. Thank you for any and all help. Ramona

Depending on how much data there is to transfer, she could e-mail it to herself, and download it on the iBook. If possible that's probably the cheapest way to go.
