H & P 500 Printer

I have a client with a H&P printer. It has 2 annoying problems 1) It has a habit of taking the paper though the printer crooked. and 2) it has this if you print say 1 page it prints ok then faults on the next page and you have to push the reset button to get it print again.
I have set the spooling to print direct from the computer but this made no difference.
Does anyone have any ideas on this ???

Clean the rollers.

the hp 500 has a history of the pickup wheels
drying and not being pliable...
first advice call hp they have a kit for this
that reconditions the pick up wheels
second advice check to make sure you are using the right device drivers....
third advice check lpt1....

Check the paper youre using. If its slick or shiney the rollers may have trouble grabbing it thus it goes in wrong. Worth a shot to try thicker or better paper.
