When I play halflife online, i get static all the time, as info is constantly going back and forth. When i'm surfing I only get the static when the page is loading. I also get it when DLing a file. I have a 3com office connect nic, and the static just started(didn't do it B4)
Any ideas welcome!

Would that modem happen to be an internal model with a cable jacking into your sound card? While many current sound cards have a connection for a sound lead off the modem, I'm not convinced they are able to handle the sound out-put of a cable modem. Might be that you need to download a new driver for the sound card if they are connected to handle that.

Nope, it's external. It jacks into the nic card. My sound card is a Monster MX300. What's puzzling is it didn't do it B4. I did upgrade the Sound car drivers a while back, but I don't remember the problemstarting then.

I'm not to familiar with the cable type modems. Is your cable removable? If so try replacing it the shielding in the cable might be breaking down.
