Guys wanted you to know I just bought a Sapphire x800gt 256 DDR3 for one of my systems for 169.00 its screaming fast because it overclocks and runs stable at 520 mhz core/ 520 mhz ram. There are a bunch of reviews on it and because of the ram, fan, and chip it uses, it was created to be the 9600xt of the new Era of video cards. Its cheap and really really run like a monster occed. I believe its because it uses the same chip as the x800xt and X800xl ,by all the reviews I read. I have a 6600gt with DDR 3 , and this card kills it. I realize it only has 8 pipes but man it tested on the 2005 future marks at 4900 about the same as a x800 pro and near a x800xl. For a 169.00 card thats very fast. P.S my 6600gt score in the high 3800s. Hope this helps because ive had alot of video cards in my time and this ranks as the best bang for the buck ive seen since my 9600xt, or 6600gt in their time.

Sounds awesome. Where'd you buy it and is it AGP or PCI-e? I'd like to get my hands on one.

here are some reviews

Pros: this card runs great for the price. Compared to other x800 cards it runs just as well and cost a lot less. Got my card right on time also.

Cons: no cons

Did you find this review helpful? Nice card for the price

Pros: Runs games very well.
Runs cool with ATI Tool.
Overclocked very well.

Cons: Heat exhausts in to computer case, instead of out the back.
No ramsinks on the chips

Other Thoughts: This card installed easily. Scored 18772 on 3d Mark 01 se. Scored 9100 oc'd to 500/520. Runs 38C at idle and reaches 52C with fan set to 100% all the time through ATI Tool. Upgraded from an FX5900 to this and the difference is noticeable especially for gaming. Ordered on Tuesday got it Friday night.

Pros: Very quick delivery time---NewEggs "Rush Delivery" made sure to have it out the door the same day that I ordered it. I was considering the OEM-GTO version of this card, but the extra warranty period for the retail version convinced me to get this one. Not disappointed, runs BF2 on almost all HIGH settings (I put Dynamic Shadows and Lighting to Low tho, for the extra FPS), as well as HL2. Great Value and Performance for the price I paid(169.00)!! Its certainly not needed anytime soon, but if you want this will even OverClock pretty well with the stock cooling, and adding some better cooling in the slot below and/or on them Memory will let you overclock this card even higher! This will be a great final AGP card, and will start building a PCI-E system this summer/Fall. Thx Egg!

Cons: No Active cooling on the memory chips, so the OverClocking is kept to about 15% boost with stock cooling---which still is not too bad. If you Really want to push this card, just buy a nice slot cooler or something down the road! You wont need to anytime soon tho, great performance!

Other Thoughts: Highly Recommended! At the 800x600 & 1024x768 resolutions, this card benches almost the exact same as my X800XL (that card rocks in higher resolutions with AA pumped). This card just cant be beat for the price!!

Pros: OVERCLOCK OVERCLOCK OVERCLOCK
This thing can take it. I'm run at more than 15% across the board. Install was a breeze

Cons: No stock Ram cooling. Had to install some mini Ram heat sinks.

Other Thoughts: I posted a more detailed one yesterday but I guess it was against NewEggs rules to go into that much detail. I'll just say this, when you use the right tools it has Tons of room to perform at higher specs. Newegg Shipping was only 2 days shipping on a 3day package and I'm way out here on the East Coast. Great Job with it being this close to Christmas. NEWEGG YOUR TOPS

4 out of 4 people found this review helpful. Did you? Stage 1 Testing

Pros: Easy to Install (Make sure you go and update all drivers). Stock over clocking tool is easy to use. I have not tryed other tools yet just going w/ the stock progs and equipment for now

Cons: No real cooling for the Ram. If your an over clocker this is a must Upgrade but can be done easy and cheap(more to come on this later).

Other Thoughts: NEW EGG IS Tops!!! Ordered it on Tues night 3 day UPS. It was not due here the 5th. I got it on Fri. AM the 2nd. WOOOHOOO more testing time. I'm on the East Coast. Over all it's been flawless game/video play. I have tested Dark Age of Camolet(Darkness Exp.)runs it Flawless. Anarchy Online. Sweetness!! I see every bullet wiht zero video blips(other than server lag) but no card issues. Now the Big test was Far Cry. Runs it Perfect. I have had the clock speed up to 510 Core and 530 Memory (Equal to 510/1060 in reality). Ran it for about 3 hours and not one major Temp spike. I will stress it out some more but I want to find the limits before I change the stock cooling. I did make one small change. I cleaned the Stock Heat Grease to Artic Silver grade 5. Works great on heat trans on my CPU and since I had the Fan/Heat sink off before install I changed it to the good stuff. Keep checking back I'm going to see what the sucker can do over the next few weeks. System Spec and Info to come.

1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? Great Card!

Pros: This video Card looks amazing for its price I read several online articles and reviewed benchmarks and it hit high almost every time.. In some cases performed better if not the same as a more expensive card.

Cons: Newegg does an amazing job, I have built my entire computer from parts that Newegg sells.. and they have great service.. I am only giving a "Good" this time because my card was shipped Nov 25th and its now Dec 2nd.. still no card.. the address was put on wrong and it ended up in Eugene Oregon.. So I am still waiting...

Pros: i got my radeon x800gt today, after taking a bit to install it, i went from playing battlefield 2 in low to high, and it was smooth as a baby, same for half life 2, shipping was hella fast, newegg rocks. this is a really nice vid card, worth what i paid.

Cons: none at the moment

Other Thoughts: defn a good deal

1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? good card

Pros: Very fast shipping by Newegg, I should have used something else other than UPS though... 3 day select took 8 days, I guess Thanksgiving is a 4 day holiday for them:( This video card was easy to install even for a noob like me and works pretty well. I've been playing Doom 3 on High with a little choppiness but I only have 512 mb of RAM so I think that is the problem.

Cons: Mine didn't come with any sort of manual which would have been nice for the installation. I could find e-manuals at the ATI website but not for this specific card.
Go FEDEX!!!

Did you find this review helpful? Clock Speeds amdd Testing Review

Pros: I have this item on order and should be in my system by in a few days.

Cons: Have not Tested it yet my self.

Other Thoughts: Here is a link of a reviews you might want to look at. ( http://www.insanetek.com/review.php?id=161&page=1) I found it most helpful on figuring out which to buy, the x800GT or the Nvidia 6600GT. I'm a long time Nvidia man but looking at the stats and some of the over clocking rates I figured I would give this card a shot. Review and spec's will follow after I have had a chance to fully review the product.

Core Clock = 475Mhz
Memory Clock = 2x 490Mhz (980Mhz Total)

2 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Did you? clock

Pros: blah

Cons: blar

Other Thoughts: This card has a core of 400 I believe, and a clock of 475/980 effective. But if comes with overclocking tools and with the stock fan can be overclocked roughly 15% higher with rock solid stability.

I wonder if this thing has any masked pipes?? It is great looking price/performance now but if there are unlockables on it, it would be fantastic.

TomT, can you fire up rivatuner and see if it shows anything masked??;)

since the x800gt is based off the same core as the x850XTs, it may be possible. however, the pipes are probably truly defective. from what I've read, the X800GTs are basically X850XT core that didn't make the grade. If the x800gt had 12 good pipes then it would have been sold as a GTO instead.

The version of the x800gt I bought uses special Samsung rams ,and the same core as the x800xt , but the pipes are lazer cutt I believe. Oh Im now stable running at 549mhz core and 564.75 mhz ram. This baby hammers for the price. Here is the best Gto I can find but there is not an Agp version from this company its only PCIE , but it does have the masked pipes and got fantastic reviews. It costs 179.00, at newegg.
