Could any one tell me how to set the BIOS poweron password. I need to stop any one using my computer. Thanks.

Normally...once you get into BIOS, it's pretty self explanatory...
Without knowing what kind of BIOS you're on...

There should be an "Other" or security, or password option....

BIOS passwords aren't that effective, since you can just reset the cmos/remove the battery.

Unless its a Thinkpad, horrors.

Otherwise, what midnyte said.

with laptops it's a little different. I'd say you're more of a danger to yourself if you forget the password.

Toshiba laptops are also know for horro stories if the BIOS password is lost.

That is until I found out the "secret" trick to reset them. I now buy password protected Toshiba laptops, reset them, then sell them for a profit. I can also reset a password for a user and charge them less than the $70 that Toshiba Factory Repair charges.
