Can't seem to get any music out of my computer. Everything used to work, but after i installed a new modem, it wouldn't work anymore! But now, i've removed it and reinstalled the sound drivers and stuff like that, can't seem to hear any music. My CD-Rom plays it using any CD player programs. EX: CD PLAYER, WIN AMP, etc. Anyone might know the problem? I've checked all my cables and stuff, it has no problem!
NEED HELP! THANX.
Do headphones work directly out of the CD ROM drive? - not through the sound board, but directly out of the front of the drive.
If that works, I'd say you probably have some sort of memory address or IRQ conflict between the sound card and the new modem.
If it doesn't work, your CD-ROM just flaked out on you and may need to be replaced or, at the very least, reloaded.
Check your system for viruses lately?
You didn't buy a fancy modem with sound built in, did you?
Reseat the cable between the CD-ROM and the sound card at both ends.

This happened to me once...I thought I broke something.
When you use winamp to play a track, do the bars or line for the visuals move?
If not, maybe you have the CD audio muted in the volume controls by mistake!

Hello,
Did you connect the audio cable from the back of the CD-ROM into the audio card? If you have a onboard sound chip you may have to attach the cable to the motherboard.
