Anyone know how to get rid of all systray items? Simply disabling in msconfig doesn't do the job. Perhaps the Reg or the indiidual program's components?

Thx!

If your OS is Win 98 go from start--programs--accessories---system tools---systeminformation---tools---systemconfiguration utilites--startup----here you can uncheck all the programs that you don't want to start up. The nice thing about it if any time you want them back you could go back and check them. This way you don't have to go into the registry and risk of screwing up. good luck

Thanks for your responses. The icons I'm attempting to remove from systray are: IE, Microsoft Outlook, Netmeeting, and Desktop.

Anton, the method you suggested did no good, but thanks! By the way, you can get to the screen quicker by typing "msconfig" in Run on the Start menu.

Again, thx. I'll keep trying. /forum/wink.gif

are you talking about the icons in the quicklaunch toolbar next to the start button? cuz thats what it sounds like from the items you are describing that are in there. to get rid of those you right click the icon and click DELETE. these are just shortcuts, tho, and are not actual programs that are running on your comp...

also, to get rid of the whole thing, you can right click an empty area of your taskbar and go to TOOLBARS and uncheck QUICKLAUNCH
