its nice to see that my 7800GT at stock settings beats the bestest 500$ ATI card in some tests:)

Yeah, ATi has really been handed it lately. Don't worry, they'll rebound. They just need to get Crossfire out the door and R6xx. Their stock hit a bottom and jumped up just after the release of R5xx so now is the time to cross fingers and watch them come up with a better response.

IMO, r5xx is ATi's nv30, but oh well...
