Nvidia doesn't make their own cards. Asus is using an Nvidia 6600GT chip.

it's a little expensive. look for the evga 6800GS PCIe instead.

hows this one?? it sounds pretty nice...but i cant find any ratings on it...for example...on the X-Bit labs best video cards of 2005 i see a Geforce 6800 but not 6800XT...are they the same thing possible?

also what are the differences between that video card and this one?

the 2nd one comes at a higher price but its only 128 mb...can anyone tell me why?

The 6800GS is better than both of them for only a little bit more.

6800NU (plain 6800) is an older card. The 6800XT has less pipes and VS than the 6800NU or GS.

The amount of ram is not the only thing; it's also the type of ram. GDDR3 is more expensive than plain DDR1.

I already told you, the 6800 = 6800NU is old. your best bet is the 6800GS

worst to best:
6800XT/LE then 6600GT/6800NU then 6800GT then 6800GS

is the GeForce 6600GT 128 Mb a good card? http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20050705/index.html
if u look here u will see that they tested the 128mb 6600 GT, and i was wondering if that is true

http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20050705/vga-charts-pcie-07.html
then once again they test it and it does really well, even better than say the x700 256...is this a typo or are they really using the 128 mb 6600 gT?

just because it is a 128mb card doesn't mean it will be slower than a 256mb card. again, there are many aspects to a video card. the amount of ram determines the amount of textures the card can hold onboard before deferring to the system memory.

Yes the 6600GT is a decent card. it is on par with a 6800NU. I've already told you what I recommend. I'll let other people chime in now.

sry for asking so many questions...

im gonna buy that GS most likely, espeically if its better than the GT and with Dual support, its gonna be reaaaal nice

just one more question, what are pixel pipelines??

edit: i read on on the anandtech and saw the performance charts, thsi GS can really pack a punch
