I have a Compaq computer loaded with win98...
Because of my scheduled tasks (ie. anti-virus scans, task scheduler, etc.), I usually leave my computer on for most of the day. But when I do this, about 1 hour - 1 1/2 hour later, my computer goes on STANDBY operation and these tasks do not get completed. I've applied that task scheduler 'wake up the computer to run this task' but it never does wake up my computer.
I've also attempted to disable the STANDBY operation thru Win98 power management, power schemes. Still nothing.
I've gotten rid of the STANDBY mode before. A couple months ago, A STBY didnt respond message appeared and I set it so that it will never run that STBY setting again. That worked. But, a friend of mine was messing with the Win98 log-on user
programs and it restored everything, even when I deleted his User profile...
Is there anything else I should try?
