Thank You Solo scotter 11-01-1999, 05:07 PM it all depends on what you are doing with your computer if your using it a lot for bussness as a work station or a server then yes. If how ever your mainly just serfin the net and playing games then thats a call your going to have to make as to if you can aford the extra cost. As memery is soo good now it's realy more of do you want to spend the extra money for a little better performance that you may or may not ever realy see /forum/smile.gif just my thoughts on the subject /forum/smile.gif AuraEdge 11-01-1999, 06:47 PM Actually if you enable ECC, I believe you ram will run ever so slightly slower, as it has to write the 8th bit for every 7 for the ECC checking. I have a stick of 64MB RAM and I dont even enable ECC..I dont think anyone really needs it unless your a accountant..other than that thats about all youll ever need it for. Gene C. 11-01-1999, 11:10 PM not unless you are running a server. I had a intel board w/intel 333 chip. changed the memory to reg. not the ecc and it did run faster. so save your money and get some more upgrades.it is very unlikely you will ever have the need for ecc in normal use.
