Kindly advise how do I activate the automatic scandisk during start-up whenever my computer does not exit or shut-down properly.

I am using windows 95 with Norton 2000 system works software which may have interfered during installation.

Thanks!

Find tweakui for Win95 at MS http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/contents/WUToys/W95PwrToysSet/Default.asp
I would install only tweakui from that package of power toys by right clicking its .inf file and choosing Install.
After installing you will have a control panel app for tweakui. Open it and make sure all the settings are as you desire. I believe the selection you are looking for is under Boot.

I have the Norton sys works also ver 2.0. My
virus program checks at start up and whenever the computer is not shut down. Instead of the original windows scandisc the Norton scandisc
checks a multitude of options and if some thing is wrong like missing sectors on the Hdd, gives you an option to repair them. This has been the case with my computer. It's possible when you installed the software that all of it was not loaded. I've had that happen, but more on downloads. You may have to go to " Add/Remove" programs, delete( remove) and reinstall and see what happens. Just a suggestion, it's worked for sometimes.
Good luck!
