I have Adaptec Easy CD Creator 3.5c, and now that I have flashed my bios it will not startup, it just hangs. I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del and end the task. I also used Eteq service pack 4.12. What have these changed to make it not work? It happened once before but I solved that, I think it was the CD drives had to bet set to no DMA. I have done this now but still it won't work. I have to use CDRwin and it takes ages cos it isn't registered (all 1x operations). Please help!
Thanks.

If you haven't yet, remove the program and reinstall it.
I you want to try something else before doing that, do a Find on: MFC42.DLL
If you find there is more than one copy on your system, place the most recent version in the System directory.
I don't know what other direction to lead you to, just now. I'm not familiar with EteQ SP4.12.

I have tried re-installing several times and it will start up the first time but when I open the CD drawer it freezes again, it is really annoying now as I can't even back up my system to formay and try again!
More advice greatly appreciated.

There's also a patch 1.04 for EasyCD 3.5c over at http://www.adaptec.com/support/files/updateexe.html . Might try that and see what happens. It adds support for more CD/CD-R/CDRW/DVD makes.
Did you check the Bios settings for the CD drives? If they are IDE, try setting it to Auto.
