Correct me if Im wrong but I have been thinking the reason why Linux is not that much accepted commercially is because of its lack of support on commercial games, but im unsure about that.. So Im would like to ask: What commercial games new & old (popular & best old games 2004 and below) that run 100% or more effective and efficient on Linux, those that run better than windows with hardware drivers with it on Linux systems?

I don't think that people who don't know how to use Linux will use it jus because it supports some games. Perhaps it depends on the games. Keep in mind the most games use DirectX and it's libraries are designed for Windows (although Transgaming made some work on porting DX8).
One thing is for sure: Windows' (and especially MS Office) usage would drop quite drastically if there were no piracy and everybody had to pay for it.

Well, you can always you an emulator like Wine, but you'll obviously lose some performance. Even so, many games run fine on it (http://appdb.winehq.org/appbrowse.php?catId=2), including some mainstream ones like WoW, Halo, Civ3, Diablo2, etc...
I'm bailing this topic before it turns into a Windows VS Linux discussion :D

There is no way Linux can be responsible for luck of support of games. It's the game developers that do not support Linux.
Nvidia for axample makes good drivers for OpenGL under Linux, but ATI on the other hand makes the crapiest drivers ever for Linux. ATI 9800 Pro will work like 9200SE under Linux if not lower than that.
MS won't provide DirectX libreries for Linux.
I mean that Linux community is all for bringing comercial games to the system, but luck of suport from game developers, who choose DirectX over OpenGL, and other parties slows the proccess down.
Some stuff has to be paid for, so who is going to pay for it. Since there is not a lot of money to be maid from games under Linux right now.
Not every person can install Windows, so installing Linux just doesn't fit the picture.
By the way, all quake games, Doom3, UT games work under linux. Other games might need some type of emulation like "bassman" stated.
