I am trying to substitute pc100 ram for p66 ram . I have a pc chips m748lmrt MB. It has sockets 1 and 370. Board is jumperless and has BIOS options for 66 and 100mhz fsb. I am running a 400 celeron, socket 370 and using 64mb pc100 ram. 66mhz fsb * clock mult,6 runs well. When I bump up fsb to 100,regardless of the clock multiplier, the system won't boot up and I have to clear the BIOS in order to get things running again. BIOS only gives two choices for fsb, 66 and 100. I also notice that changing the clock mult. in BIOS does not effect CPU speed. If I use 3.5,4,4.5,7.5, regardless, the CPU speed is always 400. I tried updating the BIOS, but, I still have the same problems. I have a feeling that the clock mult. of this CPU is frozen at 6 and when I use a fsb=100 the end result is 600mhz which totally freezes up the system.
