We have sent a dead harddrive to a recovery centre. After recovery, there are some .doc files that are corrupted. Are there any utility software to repair the corrupt data?

If I understand what you are saying correctly. That is you have gotten the files off of the bad hard drive on to another type of media on which the files are corrupted and the current media the files are on is good.

I do not think there is a way to restore/repair a corrupt file although I maybe wrong. I believe no disk repair would work since it has left the original media. I am not sure it could even be done on the original media.

Plenty of products out there. Just did a google using word, corrupt, file, recovery and came across couple of dozen. I've used a freebe of one of these programs a couple of years ago, don't remember which one, but it did recover about 85% of my corrupted files

Are your files on a new HD? Or on the old one, might check at www.ontrack.com
I you can run scandisk on the HD, it might save some of the files as chk.000 (etc)
if is does save some chk. files try opening them in word your information my still be there. Good Luck :)
