lost hard drive space...Help me please

I have just installed a 17.3Gb hard drive on my pc...without partitions, but the bios will only recognise 7.8Gb

How can I get my full drive space without losing my data?

Can I partition without reinstalling everything?

Try getting ahold of Partition Magic. And, check to see if there are any bios updates for your motherboard.
