cakewalk application error

when I shutdown cakewalk I get this error
CWPA.exe application error
the instruction at 0x00000001 referenced memory at 0x00000001 the memory could not be "read"

any ideas what that means

Check your RAM, look for viruses and spyware.

thanks....I know I have 512 ram how would i go about checking it ?
