I'm currently networking 2 Win98 computers at home using NICs and a small hub. With Wingate they both can independently surf the web. On Tues. the AT&T@Home guy will be installing a cable modem. Is there anything I need to do to insure that he won't mess up my networking capability. (I understand I may be able to simply plug a RJ-45 jack from the cable modem into the hub and allow both computers to go online ... any experience with that?)
(Sorry for double-posting on the Networking board, too, but I need help fast!)

We have a cable modem and are trying to do what you are doing....except for us its not working. if you have any luck, please write me back. everythign works fine on its self, but when we try to connect it all together using win98 s.e. nothing works.
thanks

Thanks, Chipbgt, for responding. Tried an AT&T@Home cable modem on my Win98 AMD-K6 333MHz ... found their software package (with all of its plugins, etc.) screwed up my machine so bad I had to format and restore it to the way it was before (from a CD-R I had burned that morning). The speed was nice but it was too buggy for me. Also, their lack of network support left me very frustrated. Anyway, thanks again. Maybe I'll try another option later.
