Anyone indentify this?
Also its is a compaq on a VX board that only starts up Sometimes. I have to keep flicking the power on and off before it starts. When it doesnt start, it pauses with COMPAQ written across the screen. I only get the beeps when it does start. I am attempting to restore a 200MMX machine.
EDIT

Now its more like 16, pause, then nonstop beeps and then if i try to do anything, it will freeze after i click a OK button or something.
This is weird. I will try to reconnect everything in the comp and see if it still happens

After fiddling with clearing the CMOS and messing with settings, I managed to get it started and running without beeping (I dont know why but i moved the CD (and its jumper) from master second IDE, toslave first IDE and I had no problem.
Well now it just sometimes wont start. Ill hafta flick it on and off about 5 times to see if it starts. I am using a different harddrive from default, but otherwise all things are the same as when I got it new. The harddrive that came with it was a Seagate 3.2 And the one I have in now is a Maxtor 5.6. Also, I noticed that the power supply was only 75 watts. I have a CD, Harddrive, Floppy, ISA Modem, and a VX board with integrated Ram, Video and Sound. Could power be a problemby changing just the HDD?

First advice would be a newer, higher capacity power supply AND switch.

Think its a burned out PS?

Its a COmpaq, so i dont know if i can toss in any AT PS and make it fit

Perhaps I should clarify. It starts up 100% of the time, just sometimes it will stick on a screen with COMPAQ plastered across the screen. Also, notably, the CD drive will always spin up, but when it freezes at the compaq screens, the harddrive light wont shut off (it will stay lit until I shut it off)

--EDIT
I will begin a new thread, as the subject no longer deals with the topic
