I have a 250GB HD, and 3 times I have tried resizing my 2nd partition with PM, but it has frozen up on me every time. This is with PM 7.0, I haven't tried 8 yet. Regardless, I want to resize my primary, but I'm not willing to do so until I know that its ok or I find out what the problem is that I've been having so far.

Drives as large as 80 GB are now supported.

Get a newer version.
