I have a FIC 503+ mobo and a Toshiba M1202 DVD.
Ive loaded the latest via bus master UDMA drivers but the option to enable DMA is not available to check in the device manager.

Also the devices that are using DMA like the Floppy disk controller and soundcard dont have a box to tick either.

Some DVD drives don't support DMA mode. If the checkbox for DMA is grayed out for your DVD, your drive doesn't support DMA mode. As far as the floppy and sound card goes, there are no checkboxes to enable or disable DMA mode. While they use DMA, they don't use the same bus mastering drivers as hard drives, CDROMs and DVDROMs.

There is a way to enable your UDMA for that drive, but it envoles going into the regisry and editting it for that drive. And I don't think that the 1202 drive supports udma. If it is working now just fine leave it alone.
