Have no idea what just happened. turned on my pc this morning and when windows finally loaded i noticed everything was running slowly esp the mouse. nothing was loaded at the bottom taskbar either. ran the "msconfig" and noticed that
scanregistry was misssing
load power profile was missing
and other items that usually were loaded upon startup were also missing.
what the heck happened?
How do I get this all back?
esp. scanreg and loadpowerprofile?
seems like the registry is being bypassed so nothing is being noticed?

Hi Sweeper

A couple things I would try...

Boot to command prompt and type: scanreg /restore
If this is working, roll back to the date before this problem.

Alternately, try: scanreg /fix

(As a side note, you can edit the scanreg.ini to increase the number of MaxBackupCopies anywhere from 0-99)

If you have it installed, TweakIU, Repair tab, repair Registry option. That may work. May as well hit Repair System Files too, (I've had pretty good luck with TweakUI)

Lastly, if these don't work, a reinstall of Windows would be an option.

LoadPowerProfile has something to do with power schemes, beyond that, I'm not sure.

Hope this helps.

Try to restart windows... Before you try anything else, check for viruses.. Cause no matter how you try to fix it, it will still be the same if there's a virus that's causing it to crash your registry.. And if you have a backup of all your programs, I would suggest re-installing you OS...
