Here's the problem, I have been having a lot of **** happen to my machine lately, it's ok now though. In the process of backing up and restoring files, I have to go into every single folder and make all files not read-only, one by one. Is there any way to do this either all in one go or even better, when you copy it from the cd, make it non-read-only. It takes ages when there are lots of subfolders.
Thanks in advance.

Select all of the files you wish to make not read only, right-click, goto properties and you can check the boxes of what you would like them to be from there. I know win98SE allows this cause I just did it. Not sure about the other OS's though.

This does not work with folders, you can lok at the properties of a folder and the read-only box will not be checked, but if you open the folder and look at the properties of a file in the folder, the read-only box can be checked. Sometimes the read-only box of the folder is checked with a shadow aswell but not recently.
Thanks anyway.
