I notice that when I have to use the 3 finger salute Alt-Ctrl-del on a freeze up that I have about 18 different programs on the box, I read were someone said that for max performance this should be kept to a minumin but I don't know how to get rid of these programs from the close box,
Can someone help and tell me how to do this??

To remove programs just select the one you want to get rid of then press end task but when you reboot they will be back.
To stop them coming back go to start menu-programs-accessories-system tools-system infomation then select tools and system config util there you can switch off any startup programs.
But there`s probably a better way.

From the Start/Run command type msconfig and press ok. Go to the Startup tab - that shows you whats-a-loadin' when you you start Windoze. You can stop things that you don't what auto loadin', but be carefull.

Theinstructions they gave you are for WIN98.
I believe you should first look under your startup folder in windows and remove whatever is there. Other than that i think you must edit the system registry /forum/frown.gif
