i just got a oem version of a sb live from a computer shop for a good price to replace my old awe64(isa). the funny thing is after i got the sblive installed and the newest drivers i could download from creativelabs.com( liveware 2.1) i noticed under win98 even with the same powered speakers i have with a amp hooked up to them, the sb live even at full volume plays to quietly, what i mean is with the same volume settings on my speakers and in win98 that my old isa awe64 was using it was at a good setting and i could turn it a little up with win98 volume control from the midle and it was loud, but with the sblive the volume full blast on everything is still quiet as heck. why is this? when i used the sblive under windows 2000 release candidate 2 professional. the volume settings work great and i dont have to turn everything up full blast to just hear it, but in win98 its to quiet or to low. anyway to fix this problem? its annoying me!
HELP!

I have the card that you are refering to and I have had a few problems and mine have all been self inflicted. You might find one of the slide controllers on the mixer is set too low.
One thing I have found very useful is the ability to reset everthing back to the default. This can be found on the soundblaster live menu. I expect you have tried all that I have mentioned, but I thought I'd try to help.
