Anybody got it?? Anybody like it??

One friend I know has it....but I don't trust him :p

Just want to get some opinions before I splash out £40 on the game :(

I've yet to play it myself, but i've heard a lot of negative feedback thus far.

If you were a big fan of the original though (like me) it'll probably be to your liking - might be worth holding fire till the price comes down a while just to avoid potential dissapointment. That's wht i'm gonna be doing

If your a fan of Lionhead games (and don't already own it on the X-Box) Fable: The Lost Chapters may be a better full price purchase

There isn't any sort of demo is there?

The first one was fun though......

£40 is a lot of my pocket money though :(

Decisions decisions.....I was going to get quake 4 but that got some pretty bad reviews......

Any more comments?

Pick up F.E.A.R. tomorrow - that seems to be the game of the moment.

LIke i say you'll probably liek BW2 but what with all the negative rap theres the possibility it could be a waste of £40 - never a good thing :(

I can do 800x600 medium detail in the SP demo on my lowly 9800 Pro and it skips along happily - looks gorgeous to boot

Been meaning to go S939 for a while - but ive been away from computers quite alot this past year, so i never seriosuly got round to organising myself for it financially.

Still, kind of an advantage really, because the 7800GT got released in the meantime and "i'm 'avin that" this 9800Pro's starting to show its age but the x800 and NV6xxx series were never THAT much better to justify an upgrade.

Now if only Santa would install that little lot for me as well as deliver it, i could spend christmas being sociable (instead it looks like ive got 5 system rebuilds lined up - tis the season to be jolly indeed)

Jak...not that it has anything to do with this post...but what made you the bigcheese..so to speak....????? I am older and have just as many posts....

But quite frankly, I was referring to the other post where a new member simply asked a straightforward question and got the third degree.

I may not be new..but although yu personally handled it well.., I think others should get off thier high horse and have some patience and understanding for new people... A yes or no would work...

All I know is anyone who owns a computer is some sort of expert wiz kid..and that simply ain't so...

I couldnt care less - i'm above it. It was a thinly veiled attempt on the part of the poster to stir trouble though - which it did, trouble for him. He seems to have of gotten a pretty clear, if blunt, reply from the rest of the community, therefore theres no need for the thread to remain open any longer.

It's a very performance hungry game, it's killing everyone's system's by the sounds of it. Apparently Ati cards are struggling with it more than Nv's though - one ATi Beta Tester suggested rolling back to Cat 5.6, see if that helps any - but the general advice is that your gonna have to lower the detail (particularly those settings relating to textures, such as AF and Filtering)

Well I realised that my AGP speed was set to off....

Installed the 5.10 didn't work. Installed the Omega 5.9 driver....did nothing...

Then installed the intel driver chipset. Did the trick. I get about 40 Fps now...which is stil a bit low...that is at 1024*768 and medium detail....

Once i get home I will uninstall the driver and go back in time to the cat 5.6 driver.

Funny that ATi are struggling when one of the bits at the start is a 'runs best on Ati'

Also it has a bit at the start that says it was optimised to run 'Intel EE':rolleyes:

I thought My card is outdated....twas terrible :( was like watching a slide show *porsch bursts into teers* :p

There's no doubt that Black & White 2 rides the searing-hot edge of graphical and artificial physics technology, with unbelievable detail and realism offering a lifelike countryside down to each blade of grass. Even the creature selection screen has stunning detail, with flowers blooming in the grass, which bends and breaks under the movement of your awaiting creatures. Just as the original was heralded as a new benchmark in realistic water effects and spacious, convincing fields of grass, Black & White 2 dares you to take a whiff and say you don't feel like you're in a vast countryside that is yours for the shaping.

There's no doubt you'll be able to show off your video card with Black & White 2, but whether you'll want to invest serious playtime into this world still remains firmly in the grey area. Look for our review soon.

I didn't realise the game was so cutting edge with graphics. I mean it looks great. But I never read anything about it being revolutionary :)
