I've got a really annoying problem! When I try to burn a recordable disc it fails most of the time! Windows 98 is installed on my super socket 7 system with VIA chipset and I'm using a Philips CDD3610 CD-RW drive. Does somebody have the same configuration (VIA chipset with CD-RW drive) and having it working properly or do I have to wait for VIA finished developing their IDE bus master drivers supporting CD-RW drives ?
Or is there something else wrong ?
Please help me.....

I have a Philips 4x4x24 CDRW drive on a Epox MVP3G-M motherboard working without a single problem..... First what software are you using to burn with?
I see you have Win98 (good) (are you using the Win98 IDE drivers or VIA's? USE THE WIN98 drivers (via's are ONLY for WIN95!)
this is the suggested Master/Slave setup
Primary Master = booting harddrive
Primary Slave = regular CD drive
Secondary Master = CDR/CDRW drive
Secondary Slave = other hd/zip/ect
first a few hints to a successfull burn.
make sure you have:
Turn off screensavers
Turn off virus scanners
Start the burn and leave the computer alone! (dont even move the mouse around)
Make sure you are using good quality blanks (disc's)
I will wait for your response before going any further.
