Now how can that be if its the same game? Also is it worth getting a chip to allow you to play Playstation games on a PC? Thanks! chad174 09-25-1999, 07:51 PM you dont need a chip to play ps games on your pc, get a program called bleem, go to www.excite.com (http://www.excite.com) and type bleem, go download it, and you can use your playstaion games on your pc i do it all the time. bdog 09-25-1999, 10:24 PM I downloaded bleem, and Norton antivirus 2000 told me it was infected with a trojan horse virus. Be careful! Hurt_Me_Not 09-25-1999, 11:10 PM Bleem! isn't infected. The problem lies with the virus scanner. As it was explained to me some scanners search for a "part" of the virus code rather than the whole virus to speed the scan process up. And Bleem! happens to contain the same "part" of code as the virus scanner is looking for. Mnd you as far as i'm concerned Bleem! is still in beta. It has many glitches and display problems on the games i've tried. Specially when 3D accaration is enabled. Although Soulblade looks darn nice in high res. /forum/smile.gif Now as to the game. It's not actullly the same game. The playstation works differently to your pc and has different limitations and advantages. Normally you'll find the game was made for the playstation and converted to the pc or vice vrce a. Fuzzy Z 09-26-1999, 12:12 AM Thanks for the response. I still don't understand how PC & Playstation games can be different! They are the same game, so how can playing the Playstation version be better? /forum/frown.gif Bleeding Edge 09-26-1999, 01:02 AM Depends on what "better" means. PlayStaTion games are, for the most part, 100% bug free, as well as the unit itself. The same just can't be said for PC games and the supporting hardware. There's something note worthy about the hassle free act of popping in a PSX CD and being dumped right into the game. PC gaming, with all of possible frustrations, is still "better" tho'. Fuzzy Z 09-26-1999, 02:59 PM How much is a chip? How do you install it? /forum/smile.gif Thanks! Fuzzy Z 09-28-1999, 10:43 AM Anybody know what the chip costs & whats needed for install? Eli 09-28-1999, 02:46 PM What chip are you talking about? The only chip I know of is a mod chip for a PSX that lets it play backup copies. Fuzzy Z 09-28-1999, 06:27 PM I don't know. All I know is there's suppose to be some chip that will allow you to play Playstation games on a PC. I looking for some info on it. What the chip cost and how to install it? Anyone? Eli 09-28-1999, 07:26 PM I for one haven't heard of that. Are you sure you're not just getting it confused for a mod chip that sits in the Playstation? That's the only chip I know of. bringspeed 09-30-1999, 02:09 AM fuzzy z, as was explained by others, you DON'T need a chip to play Playstation games on pc. All you need is a FREE program called "bleem!" to play them. No chip is needed. you will, in fact, not be able to buy a chip to do this, as there is no SUCH THING! because there is no reason for there to be one. because, to OVERsimplify, a Playstation is just a Pentium 90 PC. by no means is it one, but it's a decent analogy. so, go download "bleem!" and play your PSX games in PC Bliss. /forum/smile.gif P.S. i'm sorry if i was alittle harsh, but it seems to annoy me to have to reiterate. /forum/wink.gif bringspeed 09-30-1999, 02:24 AM oh, to reply to your other question, a game made for PSX is much easier to program, because they have only one set of harware to program for. they don't have to take compatibility with 300 different types of video cards, motherboards, proccesors, CD-roms, ect, ect. i have much respect for what PSX programers do with an ol' P-90. that said, on the whole, PC games kick PSX's ****. how could they not, with up to and above 5 times the raw proccesing power? if you really want to see the difference, go check out the screens of Tomb Raider: last revelation for PC and PSX. that should answer why the two types of games are different, though i did meander a bit. john robbinson 10-05-1999, 11:43 PM i,ve heard the same story neiber down the street told me his brother solderd some new chip in his kids sony so they could play burned copys of playstation games and pc games as i was told playstation look for instruction in one place/same place on a cd. burners put those instruction anywhere on a cd + pc cd-rom will look else where on a cd dont know what the chip is ill find out but do know its for the sony Bleeding Edge 10-05-1999, 11:54 PM ahem. john robbinson. Your wife is requesting your attention.... bringspeed 10-06-1999, 03:34 AM yes, a chip for the PSX, not the PC! it's what developers get so they can play demo games, game editors so they can play bettas, ect. fuzzy wanted a chip to put in his PC, not one to put in in his PSX. oh, and incidentally, i don't think you have to solder it in. JennyPsyco 10-06-1999, 04:12 AM bleh playstation! I've tried Dreamcast and I wont go back. SysOpt.com
