AOE 3 ...what do you think of the full game

Have been playing this some tonight and so far I like it alot.

Its actually not too far off the original concepts so it looks nicer..plays real smooth and the whole interface is very helpful and well thought out.

I am in mission 3 right now with all the good ship battles ..or at least the first real fights I've had. Nice breakout efffects and other...
About the only thing that bothers me is it takes awhile for the men or build to be ready..but other than that it is a real nice game so far.

The initial training missions are helpful and precise.

I give it four and a half stars. ;)

My flat mate has it (i dont ask, he don't tell) and i've got to say, it looks brilliant - and this from someone who has a natural aversion to nearly all things RTS

I might have to prize it from him once im done with SS2 and FEAR

Correct - It isnt availiable for consumption by Joe Public for a few more days yet (or at least its not supposed to be - as you see, its possible to get hold of it early - as with all games, e.g. i know several ppl; who have already completed F.E.A.R. and thats nto out for another couple days)

The first two missions I pretty much breezed through .. but this one ( above pic. ) has me ahead in land area but the sea battles are rough... Just one big main enemy base.but they have two docks and hundreds of men that come running out of the gates...and I have to keep starting over building forces....

Very fun game....great graphics effects and interface... The particle effects with the sea battles are very cool.

Argh! I went out in search of that game tonight, drove 30 minutes to the nearest games dealer, and they won't sell me a copy yet!!!!! I hate my life!!!

Shoot whats another day?? Actually I got this game from a friend who is in contact with some overseas website. ( UK I think )

Since when is the good ole USA second best?? obviously we rate second and third for some game releases.

RTS... i remember not toorecently..I got ahold of RON finally..and never even got past a couple of game scenarios with that and then this... These type of games require only time and involvement.. Leisure games I call them... Good for latenight -early morning time wasting

The water in that game looks fantastic....but I think I will buy Black and White 2 instead...

Jeeze.... It only took me three days...but I finally got through the third mission

If anyone of you gets this..refer back to this post and let me know how you did on that mission.... seems pretty strightforward...kinda large campaign...but the pirates stronghold has respawning soldiers I swear... The point of the mission is to get the three maps for Nav. to next mission.. If I knew where the third map was...I could have saved alot of needless fighting... Oh Well, killed evry last man and used up ALL the map resources... funny and kinda pathetic it seems. Wheww!

In perspective to what Jak relayed.... I found the game both hard in spots but very workable..meaning it does have some pretty plain directives or mission goalsand tiesintoa storyline that continues... This I like..some story and a few nice cinematics thrown in.

One ofthe best parts of the game are the ship battles. The particle pyshics and efffects are quite good and the sound is pretty dramatic to encompass a total package there.

I just wish they would make one of these with 360 axis for map rotation.
Have yet to install the patch as the review above states you should do... Hope it doesn't mess upmy save to this point.
