I have a 450 PIII, 128 meg sdram. My mouse is PS/2. In checking the Device Manager under Systems, both the mouse and the modem are functioning properly. The only way I can explain the situation is this. When I use the computer for normal use, everything works great. When I connect to the internet, mail or Internet Explorer, as soon as the connection is made, the mouse "freezes." In between spurts, the mouse will move. The lights indicating internet connection do not consistently blink. It is like I am going off and on off and on. On my other computer, one can switch URL's in midstream or check mail while going to a site. Not with this one. It is taking forever when I do anything.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

what are your system specs? my guess is you're probably using a winmodem. if so, there are ways to get around that problem. post your sys info please.

Yes, get rid of that modem and get a good ISA hardware modem. I had one of those and it caused all sorts of weird behavior. Also, my pc was acting funny /forum/wink.gif
