My problem is this. I had this computer running then I went to shut it off. Well it locked up and then I just turned it off. Well now it won't boot up into windows. Basically all of the root dir files were gone. i.e. autoexec.bat... the only one in there was command.com. So I decieded to boot from a floppy to get the scan disk to go maybe i had errors. So I did the setup off of the CD. There were errors with the Hd.

My Q is this is there some files that I can delete to get it able to install win95b and not Lose any of my registry settings and my configuration.
Any help would be greatful
TIA,
BC

Sounds like you had a HD crash and should look into getting a new drive soon if the errors on the drive were bad sectors.

Just reinstall windows over the existing setup and you should be fine.

Just to be safe, as soon as Windows is set up, you might want to run a good virus protection program to make sure that you haven't been infected.
