I corrupted my boot drive and reverted to a backup copy of a ghost image the image is older of course and some recent email was not on it. Now I am having trouble finding the new mail which was recently compacted on the drive tha was corrupted. I used to always just copy the contents of the old identities folder DBX files. Now in the backed up drive the contents of the identities is still the old files and even if I delete them they stay the same. Did MS change something and put them in a new location since I gosted the drive a month or so ago?

I also have two much more recent backups of the identities folders contents and they are also all the same old files from a month ago. Where are new Outlook express files now stored? I can't find them anywhere on any of three drives that had up todate backups of everything else.

Course, OE has the "store" option that allows you to move the files where ever....

Mine are located:
C:\Documents and Settings\Steve\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{E5C4B58E-0072-4A0E-BA21-DD32793F2322}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Hi Steve, I just found mine there too. The key is under [local settings]. The old files were still there under [application data]. I never understood the mess. Thank you for the quick response. I hope Texas gets back to normal quickly, that's quite a bummer you guys have had to deal with recently. One again Mahalo, Uke :t
