The weather will get more extreme, until the politicians pull thier heads out of the sand and do something positive about greenhouse gases' and other manmade effects we are inflicting on the planet.
The link uke posted on ocean currents seems particularly worrying to the lives of all of us. Yet big business still calls the tune in many goverments.

I doubt we can change the weather all that much. The Eastern block and China as well as main Russia are just now gonna start consuming huge amounts of petroleum. Sure we need to get off it, but the mold has been cast. A global concerted effort is necessary. So how do we proceed?

I want to see all the upwardly economically viable economies mostly away from oil based fuels altogether, and make a success of it. :)

Actually if it must be said... I favor neuclear energy; I'd propose a temporary repository somewhaere around Chernobyl... what the Hell after all???

After all these many years, we enjoy playing the game Rusian style, at least as far as I'm concerned, bet the Queen would concur. I guess I have a soft spot for em. :t

The problems, of course, are the oversight, security, and accounting again.

But the site is a case study.

Think about it. :t

The problem with global warming is those most responsible are in denial. The Max Plank institute recently issued a report (http://www.rednova.com/news/space/98592/the_sun_is_more_active_now_than_over_the_last/) that found the sun has increased in intensity during the last 30 years. Anyone who took the time to actually read the report would discover that they have no idea how this might have effected global warming, but mealy mouths like Rush Limburger, are now using it as incontrovertable proof that it is the cause of global warming. Another report (http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Newsroom/MediaAlerts/2004/2004080217383.html) I read recently by another prominent Max Plank Society member and phyiscist, Dr, Solanki insist there is no proof at all that increased solar flares have had a significant effect of global warming, but still people like Rush and other prominent convervative radio mouthpieces insist that global warming is caused by the sun. What's the most disturbing is the fact that these same people just a few years ago when the Kyoto Protocol was being debated in congress, insisted that global warming was not happening at all, and some even sited proof the the earth was actually cooling down.

The fact that hurricanes have doubled in frequency and intensity in the past 8 years alone and surface global temperatures have dramatically increased in spite of the ususal 11 year cycle lull in solar activity is completely ignored by these civic minded stock holders.

and those Solar Panels only serve to relect the sunlight\heat back into the atmosphere, thereby increasing the temperatures again.

everyone should buy a tent & live like hermits for a couple of decades - that should set things straight again.
