I just came across a message from a member that WIN95B does not support HD greater than 8G. Is this true?
I have a HD (8.4G). I set up 8.4G in my BIOS, but WIN95B failed to boot up. To get WIN95B to boot up, I have to set up less than 8G.

I have seen others post here wiht that same problem. It was my understanding that 95B would support over 1000gb (1 terabyte) hds. Win98 does not have an 8GB ceiling.
You could always set up 2 partitions. I set mine up (13 GB WD HD) as a 3 GB partition just for my OS and a few apps that don't get shuffled around too much so theoretically there is less trouble. The other 10 GB is for netscape, games and downloads. I don;t know of this makes a diff but my system seems more stable witht his config.

Motherboard BIOS have various size limits, but not Windows 95b and higher; there the theoretical maximum is 2 terabytes, and you can read that on the Windows help files under the "drives" heading. Just a couple of years ago most BIOS were limited to about 8GB (however there are software extensions that can work around those limits), but newer boards have BIOS that will recognize quite large drives - I do not know what the uppermost limit is now, I suppose it depends on the board manufacturer and version of the BIOS.
