That motherboard doesn't have an AGP slot. I know, because I have one too. You'll have to get a PCI video card. I suggest a Radeon 9200 or 9250 PCI.

Do you see a brown AGP slot on the board? No, you don't. You see four PCI slots.

The integrated graphics are AGP 4x, that's it.

are the pci cards cheaper or are they expensive? i want a rather medium or low end card so that i will b able to play half life2 or quake4 with decent settings.please mention the cost.

I don't know if any PCI video cards will be able to handle those games. About the best PCI cards you can get are the VisionTek Xtasy 9100, which is a PCI version of the Radeon 9100. Although you're likely to find it on eBay than in a store. There's also the nVidia GeForce FX5700. Cost? Well that depends on where you live. If you're in the US, look them up on pricewatch.com or froogle.com

They're not going to be cheap. Honestly for what you'd pay for them, I'd spend a little more and get a new motherboard with an AGP slot, and a good AGP card cheap like a Radeon 9600. I'd keep it with a SiS chipset so you can keep most of the drivers the same (if not all). For example I just picked up this motherboard last week:

If that board's too tall and you need a micro-ATX board, you can find one if you look around or I can suggest one or two, but first are you using DDR RAM or regular PC-100 or PC-133 RAM?

i have a ddr ram, i think. ok if buy that card ( VisionTek Xtasy 9100) how much do u expect my graphics capacity to improve. when i checked in some sites it sys it is directx 8.1 compliant only.can u suggest some directx 9 based cards.if i buy a new mb later with agp support can i use it in it.

The 9100 will work just fine under DirectX 9, as the drivers are compatible - but if you really need DX9 compliance the GeForce FX5700 has it. Your graphics power will be better than the integrated video in either case, but they're still PCI and can only take you so far.

If you have DDR memory (the RAM has only one notch in it instead of two) then you can really get just about any board you want that is Socket A. And you can get one with an AGP slot for an AGP card, and leave out the PCI card or leave it in for multiple monitors (you can use both cards).

If you do this make sure the AGP card is the same kind as the PCI, that is if you go with the 9100 then your AGP card should be a Radeon too, whether a 7500 or 9800 or whatever. If you go with the FX5700 make sure the AGP card is some kind of GeForce card. This is so you can use the same set of drivers for both cards, to avoid driver conflicts.

To make it easy, you should get a board with a SiS chipset, that way instead of having to reinstall Windows you need only uninstall incompatible drivers first, like integrated video, and maybe sound if the new board uses different sound drivers.

Where are you located? Are you in the USA?
