Are there any new Asus motherboards where when you turn off windows ( start menu , turn off computer) after it powers down that the mouse and keyboard lights go off. I am looking at a new computer for either intel 2.8 or amd athlon 64.
The technician at Canada Computers told me that some of the Asus motherboards have this problem. If you phone Asus they will tell you their boards don't have any problems.

I have the Asus A8N-SLI and when I choose START > SHUTDOWN > SHUTDOWN the PC powers off and the keyboard lights (caps lock, scroll lock and numlock) go off and the light on the mouse also powers off.

Depending on how your motherboard is set up, it may still supply voltage to these devices to wake up. There are options in the BIOS to wake up on certain key presses or mouse clicks, and the only way the motherboard can determine if any keys are pressed is to key supplying power to those devices.

This could be what you are experiencing, just my 2 cents.
