I heard that Western Digital recalled several hard drives (in the 2 - 10 GB range or so).
Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks.
(See my earlier post about Windows 98 explorer/kernel errors--the hard drive is a suspect. Any other help would be greatly appreciated!)

I was just about to buy a WD drive when I saw that recall. I went with a fujitsu instead. My Maxtor died the other day. I wonder if there is a manufacturing defect.

I heard of the recall, too bad for WD.They make some good HD's for the money. However, it may be a good deal for us.If it's a simple part change, we may be seeing these drives as deep discounted refurbished units!
I'm gonna keep a look out to buy one just because of what you said dawg!
