Here is my setup
128mb PC-100 ram
VA 503+ MB
ALS100 sound card
stb128 4mb pci vid card
AMDk6/2-450
HD's are irellavent (dont know what they are)
but ones a 1giG and other is 540mb
win98
I have installed the patch for the VIA chipset on the MB and works fine in most app's, although after a long period of time playing a 3D game, Drakan, it some times just quits for no reason at all. Im using directX6.1 and have tried previous versions. I know my SC is causung some problems and am thinking that it maybe the SC is just old **** and doesnt go well with the direct sound, and have tried re-installing the drivers for everything and nothing has seemed to work, could this maybe be a bios setting? Ive tried disabling external cache cause I know that CAN cause prob's on this MB but the patch is supposed to fix it, either way it still quit randomly. Or maybe im just overheating my video carda bit cause of its age/new game requires alot of power?
