question about my maxtor HD

I have a Maxtor HD 10.2 7200RPM. (1 week old)
I was wondering if the slight click that the drive makes after I wake it after a time away from the Computer is normal. It just sounds like a click and the motor starts winding. Is this normal?

I belive it is normal. No offense to your or your hard drive, but Maxtor is a rather inexpensive brand. I've used a couple maxtors and they've all made quite a lot of noise.

I am trying to stay away from Maxtor. I just had a 2nd 8GB die in less then a year. Replace it with a fujitsu. Will see what happens
