Click the Windows setup tab and the multimedia option after that. You can use the details view once the Multimedia option is highlighted. Add Sound recorder. I would add all multimedia options while I was there. Assuming you have installed the proper driver for the soundcard and it shows up in the device manager, this should work for you. Adds a speaker icon in the system tray in which you can control volume, mic controls etc..... Callas 10-15-1999, 12:10 AM We did it guys. You put me on the right track. I'm sure this little problem is going to help me with other installs. Yes, I did need the "sound record", however, just checking it in the "add/remove" app, didn't do it completely. I had to reinstall Win95 to make it install. It was great to hear those startup chimes when I rebooted. You can be sure I'll check every item in the Multimedia setup from now on. Thanks guys. Callas 10-15-1999, 12:28 AM At the moment, I'm working an an M571 mobo, but it probably doesn't matter. I have trouble installing sound. This mobo has onboard video and sound. I had no problem installing the video, but no sound. Doesn't seem to matter if I run the install from the CD, or ask Windows to find it. Basically, I can't find the Volume Control to make it work. ???? SysOpt.com
