I plan on purchasing this case.
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=176335025 from an auction on ebay. The power supply is a 250W AT. (however, the case is designed for an AT/ATX motherboard) If I wanted to buy an ATX power supply, could I install the ATX PS into this case?

Thanks

Yes you could, but why go that route? The power supply will run ya between $25-$50. Add the price of that case from EBay and shipping. With the time and money you spent you can get a decent mid-tower case for around $50-$60. Then again, that is if you can get a empty case locally.

Just a thought.

There is one other little "detail" in changing from AT to ATX. With AT, the power switch is on it's own cable direct to the power supply, not to the board. You'll need that switch on the case with leads that go to the motherboard. It may be possible to use the button switch that comes with the AT but you will need to solder new leads to it.

You can also use the reset switch for power on if you like. When you are not to proficiant at soldering, like me, you figure out ways around it.

Just a little more complicated than I had expected. Of course, the most I've ever built was a 2.5mm speaker for my calculator /forum/smile.gif I'll probably get my stingy self to buy a nice ATX case.
