Not a knockdown or anything, really, just life.

All the time, money, effort, resource on the malware, virus, rogue code etc and
you get this. hehe.

From the top of the hill to the bottom of the heap - a major focus on hardening OS and ...

..... If you have installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 and use - or ever intend to use - a dialup connection, it is critical you download this patch now. Here is the word straight from Microsoft: "After you set up Microsoft Windows Firewall in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), you may discover that your computer can be accessed by anyone on the Internet when you use a dial-up connection to connect to the Internet...This can let anyone on the Internet access the Windows Firewall exceptions." ....

l run into this update message now and again... it just cracks me up. And then some more.

It is classic. :p

In other words, the Windows XP SP2 firewall is supposed to protect you from intruders, but instead it lets everyone in when you use a dialup connection. This is a significant security issue but only affects Windows XP SP2 (but not SP1 or other versions of Windows). Even if you don't use a dialup connection, download the update now and keep a copy on CD for future use.
