Hello

Been experimenting with webcams, and I have a friend who has a logitech quickcam pro. I also have the same webcam.

Problem is, while I can send my web cam images just fine without significant lag, my friend cannot.

My friend's computer is:

PIII 667
128 ram
Intel 82810 Graphics

My thinking was that with it running Windows XP, the webcam may be too much of a drain. However when not transmitting over the net, the computer can render the webcam fine. The only thing I have noticed that is off in a major way is the amount of data I am recieving. While when I send my data, i average between 280 and 380 upload in kilobytes, whereas I am only getting about 100 from my friend when recieving the transmission. Not sure what may cause the lack of information being sent?

Anyhow, any suggestions on reducing the lag? Or is my friend's computer just too slow with having Xp and little RAM.

Yes, too slow and too little RAM. They may also be loaded with viruses and spyware that is slowing the system down even more.

That's what I figured, but thought it was worth a shot to see if anyone had any other ideas on the situation.
