Sitting on my back door wondering which way to go
The sun's shining on my back and it hurts (child)
The FM station plays another bad 45
And it's been so long since I had a good time
It's been so long since I had a good time

Never wrecked my head on a bandstand
in the trombone or clarinet line
When I come in heat on Bourbon Street for Mardi Gras
When those for a cryin' just stay behind in the bar
'Cause it's been so long since I had a good time
Yeah it's been so long since I had a good time

I'm gonna lose control of my powers
I might even lose my trousers
Smash some glass, act like trash if I want
Wear a skirt be a flirt if I want
'Cause it's been so long since I had a good time
This prodigal man from Dixieland needs a good time
right now, show me a good time right now

You better take it while you can
You gotta get it while you can

And when the Man Upstairs he calls me
He'll say "It's your turn son to come"
Don't play the blues down in old Toulouse for me
Let sleighbells ring and children sing in the street
And tell all of my friends that I had a good time
Open up the sky won't you ride me high
Let's have a good time
And if I'm late at heaven's gate blame a good time
And when the angels sing I will join in
Let's have a good time really

Goodbye

Yeah, l don't mind some of his songs.

The Dixie toot tune just came back to me with all the recent terrible Southern news, kinda apt and the song is a real 'belter'. As soon as ya hear it, just the first few cords.. and boom - it's got your attention. Turn it up vey loud - and wow.

l got a quickie - if you aren't buzy -

it was just a krazy disfunctional night out, summer time, drifting
through one of those bump into everyone that u grew up with parties.
The guy doing the party just kept control of the music and kinda manipulated the mood. It was clever, a lesson. The mood just slowly settled and relaxed - the music died away and there was one of those times where everyone is just babbling away and happy and totally relaxed.

Bam, at like - you can hear it across the park outside - Volume 'Annie get your gun' by a UK band called Squeeze - (big for a while) - fantastic music.
It is a song the comes alive - blowing the roof off. If you've heard the song you nkow - if not google a copy and listen to the song.

If there had been a band playing in that dome and a'few' drinks flowing
- the whole place could have cruised thiis disaster with a smile.
Just seems like America has forgotten how to smile a while.

Stewart started out not that far away from me, and l used to go to f'Faces' gigs whenever l could.
l loved the crazy rocking blues they knocked out.
A few of the songs can still.. just give me a lift.
l forget sometimes, although not for long, just what a fantastic gift Music is.

Be well. :t

It takes will to choose the lifting mood......

Yea, it would probably have been a good thing if someone in that event had taken the leads to cheer ppl up... Music! couldn't have been worse that's for sure. Kinda like in a plane where the pilot remains calm reassuring everyone before they crash..... hmm just a thought.

I like Steward too... I was just "taquine" since you've pasted it everywhere here *S* Yea, he's a great artist, his sound, his voice, the rythmn; it definitely has a lifting spirit. Must be something to see him on stage! I seem to have a thing with "English" singers... might be their cute accent! or just something from a past life perhaps :p (if such a thing exist!)

I couldn't live without music, singing... I used to sing in a choir when I was a kid and played a few instruments. My oldest son just started highschool, music concentration.
My passion will live on ;)

Where's my DJ! I need my fix :x :D

I'll check for the Squeeze's song, merci herosrest :t

The latest data from scientists at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado, supports the view that extensive volcanic activity over the course of hundreds of thousands of years released large amounts of carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide into the air, gradually warming up the planet. Not quite sure how to prevent that.

Maybe some music is in order ;) :t

Odd y'all should bring it up. I received an email from Alford Media, an AV company in Dallas. They sent a sound system, projector and screen along with pallates of bottled water to the Red Cross at Reunion Arena, Dallas, where ppl are being bussed.

I know these guys n gals, I'm sure they're also doing much more... :t

That's cool Gene ... you know what they will serve for exactly?

.. yea it's surely not preventable... it was a kinda ironic comment, they spend all these years and money on those research... would be great if they could put it to good use other than scientific knowledge that is.

p.s. mireland, you could always try... I doubt it will help you tho :p

They said movies, news, music. They also said the Red Cross found it the perfect answer for making announcements and for helping friends and family to find one another.

It is beginning to look busy l hope the helicopter pilots are rotated.

You don't want them worn down.
It's simply a matter of time before one goes down or mid airs.
